I was born in Barrio, Puerto Rico on a sugar cane farm. My family was very poor and earned less than a dollar a day. When I grew up I played on a field with a wood branch, tin cans, and threw rocks at a tree stump. When I was retired from baseball I went on a plane with supplies to go to Nicaragua because they had experienced a deadly earthquake. When I played baseball I received 12 golden gloves, 2 world series wins, MVP for the whole league and world series, had 3,000 hits, and was named the best Latin America baseball player ever.
